Cignella has always prided itself on being an escape from the crowded cities – a truly transformative and immersive Tuscan experience with social distancing built in. Cignella’s secluded location lends a feeling of tranquillity and oneness with nature. We know that now more than ever guests will want to travel, leave the city behind and be free to treat themselves to good food, fine wine and the beautiful scenery Tuscany has to offer. We would like to share the changes we have made to Cignella so that when guests visit this summer, they feel safe in the knowledge that they and others are not put at risk.

Outdoor Excursions

Outdoor excursions are the heart of summer. Cignella is surrounded by miles of natural open space which guests are free to explore without bumping into anyone else. In the absence of tourists from overseas, Tuscany will be an uncrowded place this year. So, take a picnic, breathe the clean air, soak up the sun and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Meals and Dining

Tuscany is home to wonderful food and wine; we want our guests to continue enjoying these authentic Italian experiences safely. Therefore, we will be conducting our food and wine tastings for smaller numbers and keeping within the regulations of social distancing. To keep our common spaces less busy and maintain social distancing rules we will be offering table service for your meals and breakfast included in your stay. On request evening meals will be provided by Cignella too. With 4 different authentic Tuscan menus to choose from, there will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy. We will also be offering a grocery shopping service, takeaways, and poolside lunches. All you need do is choose!

Space for All

Cignella is blessed with plenty of space and all our 13 apartments have independent entrances to guarantee privacy, social distancing, and total safety. This will be even more apparent as we slightly reduce availability during peak season. This will minimise social friction and ensure we keep to social distancing guidelines. If you are booking a room in an apartment, we have arranged it so there is a safe distance between you and other guests. This summer you will feel as though you have got the place to yourself!

Pool

On hot days, our pool will be in high demand. To protect us all we have made some changes to the use of this communal space. As well as regularly sanitising the sun loungers we have set up disinfecting stations at the entrance to the swimming pool. We will be maintaining social distancing by spacing out the pergolas by 1.5m and limiting the maximum number of people in the pool at any time to 13. With some planning and patience whilst relaxing, all guests will be able to enjoy the pool. We count on your spirit of sharing to help us achieve this.
